Rob is a highly experienced dental practitioner. He has been recognised by the General Dental Council as a registered Specialist in Oral Surgery. He has also completed Masters level implant training at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. He is one of a few dental specialists to have undertaken an MSc in Dental Implantology at the Eastman. Few practitioners have achieved the same level of formal training and experience in dental implant surgery.

Rob works in Specialist Dental Practices in Cardiff, Bristol, Solihull and Swansea.

Oral Surgery Training

Rob graduated as a dentist from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in 1992. Following graduation he gained extensive experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery positions in Cardiff, Swindon, Stoke-on-Trent, University College London and North Manchester. During this period he passed the Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDS RCS Eng) in 1994 and the Membership in Surgical Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow (MSurgDent RCS) in 2000. He is acknowledged by the General Dental Council (GDC) as a Specialist in Oral Surgery.

Dental Implant Training

In 2001 Rob completed, with distinction, an MSc in Implant Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. Unlike many Implant MSc courses this is a full-time taught clinical programme and amongst the most comprehensive dental implant training available in the UK. In 2000 Rob was awarded the General Dental Council Scholarship award and in 2001 the Nobel Biocare MSc Student award. In 2011 Rob was accepted as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI).

Dental Implant Teaching / Experience

Rob works as a Clinical Lecturer in Dental Implantology at Cardiff Dental Hospital. This involves teaching on postgraduate courses including an MSc course and bone grafting / soft tissue grafting courses. Since 2005, Rob has restricted his work to dental implant surgery, bone grafting, cosmetic soft tissue grafting and oral surgery procedures.
